Bike around town for shopping and restaurants, or hit the trails for some beautiful scenery. Newlin Creek Trail offers 5.4 miles of mountain bike trails, and Oil Flats northwest of town hold a variety of biking opportunities for all skill levels.
The Arkansas River flows through the north side of town providing a perfect opportunity for kayaking, gold panning, and tubing. Slower moving water makes this stretch of the river perfect for a family float.
The waters around Florence offer many different fishing opportunities. The Arkansas River's key species are brown trout, rainbow trout, and wiper. The Blue Heron Ponds' key species are sunfish, bluegill, smallmouth bass, and trout.
Into rock climbing and bouldering? Take a short trip to the Florence Mountain Park-15 minutes south of Florence on Highway 67, then west at mile marker 7-or try world-class climbing north of Florence at The Banks off Shelf Road.
If you're looking for a relaxing weekend of golf, there are three courses in and around Florence. Make a tee time at Gary Player's Sumo Golf Course or Four Mile Golf Course.
